What is a Resource Sharing Meeting?

Meet with 8-14 people and brainstorm your project.  Ask for insights, referrals, connections and ideas.

Format:  You will have 5-7 minutes to introduce yourself and your company or project. Please let the group know specifically what you are looking for, example: "I own a boutique graphic design firm. We work with small to mid-sized companies. Our specialty is helping clients design a website that provides functional marketing solutions with a critical eye for graphic design. I have a skilled team of designers and web technicians. I am looking for clients who need to upgrade their current site, or would like to build a top-notch site from the ground up. We are going through rapid growth now and we need a freelance graphic designer to work on overload projects. Ideally this person will have 2-5 years experience, possibly someone who has their own business but could use a 5–10 hours a week of extra work. I also need to find a qualified English and history tutor for my son who is a sophomore at Thousand Oaks high school."

If participants have a specific referral for you, they pass their contact information to you, right there on the spot.

Bring your blackberry or address book, lots of business cards, a notebook and pen. You will want to share contacts and information on the spot. It keeps the follow-up time to a minimum.

If you have an upcoming event, let us know about it. Promote your business with a special offer or discount for In The Know Participants. Bring brochures and flyers. This is your chance to spread the word.

How Resource Sharing is Different than Networking?

Introduce Yourself Once. At many networking events, you have to introduce yourself several times. At In The Know Resources, you do it once, then everyone knows who you are.

Everyone comes with their “I Need” list. The reciprocal format makes everyone a winner. You can feel comfortable making specific requests. We look forward to sharing our connections and resources with you.

No awkward mingling. You won’t have to figure out if it is the right time to break into a conversation, or stand alone hoping someone will walk up to you.
Inclusive Community. We don’t limit who can and can’t participate. Our philosophy… The more the merrier. Come to Resource Sharing Events at different locations and different times of the day. You will maximize the number of interesting people you meet.

Intimate Meetings. We limit the number of participants at Resource Sharing meetings to create an optimum environment for an interactive sharing experience.

I would like to be a featured speaker at one of your meetings, how do I arrange that?

Partners can promote their workshops, seminars and meetings through In The Know Resources. We don’t hold “monthly meetings” like a traditional organization. It is so difficult to single out 12 members to be chosen as one of the “Monthly Speakers” So we created an opportunity for Partners to promote their programs to our vast community through In The Know Resources calendar.
